Athletic programs have been developed to satisfy varying interests and needs of students, faculty, and community members. Future expansion and revision will attempt to keep athletics as a fundamental part of the total educational process and to meet the needs of the campus.

Current athletic programs fall into four major categories:

  • Recreational Activities – unstructured fitness center usage and free-play type activities; this also includes the offering of fitness classes;
  • Intramural Programs – organized leagues and tournaments in which IU Southeast students compete against each other;
  • Intercollegiate Athletics – involves competition against the varsity and junior varsity teams of other collegiate institutions. Such competition is guided by academic eligibility and other rules and regulations set forth by the NAIA;
  • Spirit Groups – promote and enhance the overall athletic spirit on campus.

All athletic programs are administered by the director of Athletics in consultation with the vice chancellor for Student Affairs and the Intramural/Fitness Center coordinator. The director oversees the operation of the Activities Building and all outdoor athletic facilities.

More information about athletics, intramurals, fitness center, and spirit groups can be found on the Athletics website.
