ISTA Aspiring Educators
Interested students are encouraged to join the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) Aspiring Educators. A membership in ISTA AE is a membership in the local chapter, the statewide ISTA, and the National Education Association (NEA).
ISTA Aspiring Educators provides an opportunity for pre-professionals to begin networking and learning more about their future careers in education.
Membership is the first step in your career.
ISTA AE member benefits
NEA offers a rebate of $20/year for each year of ISTA AE membership. Forms are sent to new members (and are available online) and due May 1 at the end of the first school year for new teachers. The rebate checks are sent to members the following fall.
It’s a great way to receive up to $80 back!
The ISTA allows credit to first-year teachers who join during their first year of membership eligibility. The reduction in dues is $25 per year for each year of membership in an NEA-affiliated Aspiring Educators association, up to four years.
First-year teachers must provide proof of membership in ISTA AE to be eligible for up to $100 credit on the first year of ISTA dues!
For more information on the NEA student membership, explore the NEA Aspiring Educator Program resources.
