Start now on our Accelerated Pathway to an education degree at IU Southeast

Become a certified teacher and earn your elementary education degree in three years with our Accelerated Pathway. By finishing our recommended college course list in high school, you can wipe an entire year off your college journey. 

High School Education Pathway + Dual Credit + IU Southeast Accelerated Pathway

By earning your Elementary Education Technical Certification through an education pathway, including dual credit courses at your home high school, you’ll finish your Elementary Education bachelor’s degree in three years.

  • Complete the Education Professions pathway at Prosser or equivalent courses at your home high school. 
  • Take the recommended series of dual credit courses while in high school. Your dual credit courses can be through Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, or another accredited college partner. 

  • Take six semesters of required general education and elementary education courses, including student teaching. 

  • Graduate from IU Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in three years by planning ahead now! 

High School Education Pathway + Ivy Tech + IU Southeast Accelerated Pathway

By earning your Elementary Education Technical Certification at Prosser or your home high school, including dual credit courses, and attending Ivy Tech for a year, you can complete your bachelor’s degree in elementary education at IU Southeast in two years.  

  • Complete the Education Professions pathway at Prosser or equivalent courses at your home high school. 
  • Take the recommended series of dual credit courses in high school through Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, or another accredited college partner.

  • Complete the required series of courses in four eight-week sessions at Ivy Tech Community College. 

  • Finish your final four college semesters at IU Southeast. 

  • Graduate from IU Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in two years by planning ahead now! 

Early Childhood to Elementary Education Pathway

This innovative option is for students who have taken early childhood education courses and are interested in using those credits toward an elementary education teaching license. 

  • Complete the Early Childhood Education pathway at Prosser, your home high school, or a community college.  
  • Take the recommended series of dual credit courses while in high school. Your dual credit courses can be through Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, or another accredited college partner.

  • Take six semesters of required general education and elementary education courses, including student teaching. 

  • Graduate from IU Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in three years by planning ahead now!
