About Us
Dr. Kelly Ryan
Dr. Ryan serves as Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, responsible for the quality, development, coordination, and promotion of all academic and non-credit programs and courses on the campus. She is also responsible for faculty personnel matters, for periodic review of academic programs, and for assessment of student learning and institutional effectiveness. She oversees the development and use of learning resources, including the library. Along with the other academic affairs staff, she develops programs to improve teaching and student success, to encourage and support faculty research and creative work, and to promote the cultural and intellectual growth of the academic community.
Prior to becoming Executive Vice Chancellor, she served in leadership roles in academic units, including Dean of the School of Social Sciences. Dr. Ryan is a Professor of History and has won several teaching awards. She is the author of two books, Regulating Passion (Oxford, 2014) and Everyday Crimes (NYU 2019), among other publications. Dr. Ryan earned her Ph.D. at University of Maryland, College Park, her M.A at Boston College, and her B.A. at George Mason University.
Donna Dahlgren
Dr. Dahlgren is the Dean of Student Success and Persistence at Indiana University Southeast. Dr. Dahlgren a professor of psychology. She oversees the first year experience programming and coordinates with faculty and staff to promote student success across campus. Since 2000, Dr. Dahlgren has conducted research that centers on the impact of curricular and co-curricular initiatives that increase student learning and student persistence. She earned her B.S. in psychology and political science from Northern Michigan University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Cognitive psychology from Kent State University.
Lisa Hoffman
Dr. Hoffman serves as the Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at IU Southeast. Her position promotes, supports, and provides services for the increasing number of IU Southeast graduate programs. Her office also promotes and supports faculty and student research and creative activity. She provides oversight to ensure that the rights and welfare of research subjects are protected in accordance with University policies as well as federal regulations and guidelines. Dr. Hoffman is also Professor of Education in the IU Southeast School of Education, where she researches STEM learning and the educational needs of multilingual students and families. She earned her B.A. in International Relations from Samford University, her M.S. in Multilingual Education/TESOL from Florida State University, and her Ph.D. in International and Multicultural Education from Florida State University.
