What can the Career Development Center do for you?

We have several options for you to incorporate career planning into your courses. The list below highlights opportunities for students to connect with Career Development staff and resources. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Make a request for our staff to present one of the following topics to your class or organization:

  • First Year Seminar (Freshman, 60 minutes)
The Career Development Center will lead students through the Traitify career assessment to learn more about their personality and possible career options. The presentation will then highlight a variety of resources that will assist students in setting goals for the future to ensure their career success.
  • Internship Program Info Session (Sophomore/Junior, 15 minutes)
What is the key to finding a career post-graduation? Internships help students explore their field of interest and gain much needed experience. The Career Development Center will walk students through internship search strategies, requirements, and options for registering for-credit and/or non-credit internships.
  • Event Preparation Presentation (Sophomore/Junior, 15 minutes)
What should students do to prepare prior to a professional event on campus? Career Development lays out basic event prep including professional dress, elevator pitch, and company research that will make employers say, “Wow!”
  • Effective Resume Writing (Sophomore/Junior, 60 minutes)
Students will learn effective ways to display their skills to meet the position qualifications and get the interview!
  • StrengthsFinder Career Assessment Presentation (Junior/Senior, 60 minutes)
This presentation offers the opportunity for students to take an online career assessment with results that highlight their top five strengths and explains how to leverage them in professional development. The results are interpreted in class by a Career Development staff member. Please note that this will need to be scheduled one semester in advance as a fee is associated with the assessment.*
  • Job Search Strategies (Senior, 60 minutes)
What all goes into the job search process? Career Development can break it down into easy and manageable steps! We will look at networking, job boards, LinkedIn, and tips on developing a personal brand.
