Graduate Certificate in Modern World History

The Graduate Certificate in Modern World History provides coursework for teachers and other individuals looking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of history. The coursework focuses on teaching the advanced methods and skills of historians through classes on the Modern World with special courses in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Chinese history.

Certificate Requirements

The certificate requires 6 classes for a total of 18 credit hours.

Certificate Requirements:

  • 3 credit hours - HIST-H 501 Historical Methodology (offered in Spring)
  • 12 credit hours - Four courses covering at least three different areas of the world (United States, Latin America, Asia, and Europe).
  • 3 credit hours - Elective (to be approved by program coordinator if outside of history department)
