Effective June 1, 2020, students holding an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech Community College with a GPA of 2.5 or higher can enjoy guaranteed admission to selected programs at IU Southeast.
While all programs offered at IU Southeast are considered available if you and your advisor can find a supportive pathway for transfer, the programs currently open to guaranteed admission are the following: Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, and Nursing.
Program Requirements
Education
For ITCC education programs without TSAPs, the following stipulations would need to be met for guaranteed admission into the IU Southeast Teacher Education program.
The following criteria apply to all applicants to the Elementary Education Program, including those switching from the other academic programs at IU Southeast and transferring from the other higher education institutions.
Including current enrollment, candidates have at least 55 credit hours towards their General Education courses, Pre-Elementary Education courses and Concentration courses.
Completed EDUC-F200 or F201 and EDUC-F202, ENG- W131, MATH-T101, SPCH-S121, and at least one science content course and one social studies content course.
Completed Language Arts content courses (SPCH-S 121, ENG-W 131, ENG-W 250, ENG-L 101 or ENG-L 102).
Have an overall GPA 2.5 or better.
All General Education courses (except COAS-S 104), Pre-Elementary Education courses, and Concentration courses must have C or better.
Good character associated with SoE teaching dispositions.
Completion of application to the Elementary Education Program.
Note: Transfer students need to have acceptable recommendations from the instructors and field experience teachers in EDUC- F200.
The following criteria apply to all applicants to the Secondary Education Program, including those switching from the other academic programs at IU Southeast and transferring from the other higher education institutions.

The following criteria apply to all applicants to the Special Education Program, including those switching from the other academic programs at IU Southeast and transferring from the other higher education institutions.
Including current enrollment, candidates have a least 51 credit hours towards their General Education courses, Pre-Special Education courses and Additional Program Requirement Courses
Completed EDUC-F200 or F201 and EDUC-F202, ENG- W131, MATH-T101, SPCH-S121, and at least one science content course and one social studies content course
Completed Language Arts content courses (SPCH-S 121, ENG-W 131, ENG-W 250, ENG-L 101 or ENG-L 102).
Have an overall GPA 2.5 or better.

Nursing
Students holding the Associate of Science in Nursing degree must also be licensed as a registered nurse in the state in which clinical will be taken (usually Indiana) in order qualify for guaranteed admission.
Admissions Criteria
Guaranteed Admission to Indiana University Southeast will require the following:
Students will have completed an Associate's Degree of Science at Ivy Tech Community College. (STGEC completion must notate on student’s ITCC transcript.)
Students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher in the AS degree at ITCC.
Students must meet IU Southeast’s admission deadlines and send official Ivy Tech transcripts.
Students are encouraged to apply to IU Southeast at least 6 months in advance for maximum scholarship and other considerations.
Exclusions
Students who are not in good academic standing and students with prior academic or criminal misconduct are not eligible for guaranteed admission. They will be reviewed on an individual basis and their admission deadlines will be earlier.
