Welcome to the School of Social Sciences at IU Southeast! We focus on fields of study that deal with human interaction, societal institutions, and individuals.
We award undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice, History, International Studies, Neuroscience, Political Science, Psychology, Social Sciences, and Sociology.
We also offer three graduate degrees to fit a variety of interests. The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepares students to become licensed mental health counselors in the state of Indiana. Partnering with other IU campuses, IU Southeast offers an online Master of Science in Criminal Justice & Public Safety for professionals looking to advance their careers. The Master of Interdisciplinary Studies degree program allows students to design their own programs to advance their careers or pursue knowledge in multiple fields.
There are other ways for you to expand your skills and credentials, too. We offer five graduate certificates, as well as post-baccalaureate certificates and minors, including pre-law for undergraduate students and those looking to continue their education after graduation.
Students in all disciplines enjoy small class sizes taught by highly credentialed faculty, opportunities to participate directly in advanced research projects as undergraduates, and professional networking and/or internships. Our faculty are dedicated to providing the educational tools that will enable students to become the leaders of tomorrow, stressing skills that today’s employers demand. As a result, IU Southeast graduates are employed at all levels of government, at nonprofit agencies and at businesses of all kinds.
