Indiana University Southeast is making significant strides toward its goal of being recognized as an outstanding regional university, and is strategically positioned to achieve new levels of institutional excellence.
The quality of new students has been improving; support programs for student success have been expanding to increase our retention, persistence, and graduation rates; increased use of a variety of instructional modalities and flexible scheduling of courses and degree programs; technology has been significantly enhanced; facilities are being improved; the performance of students and graduates on certification examinations and in national competitions has been very good to outstanding. In addition, response to the bicentennial campaign shows that there is very strong support of Indiana University Southeast and its programs throughout the community.
All of these indicators suggest that a focused strategic planning process can help improve the effectiveness and the quality of Indiana University Southeast at this stage in its development. It will be important to our constituents that we achieve a greater measure of our full potential through more effective management of resources and processes. That is what this planning process and the strategic plan are designed to do.
