Priority Registration Week for spring and summer 2026 is November 3rd through November 6th, 2025. All current students are assigned a priority registration date. You can register on or after your assigned date. Registering on this date will give you the best chance of getting your ideal course schedule. Your registration date assignment will be viewable on September 25, 2025.
To view your Priority Registration date, visit your Student Center and click “Start.” Your registration date is listed below “Enrollment Dates.”
Understanding the requirements for your degree enables you to take ownership over your education, make informed decisions about the classes you take, and stay on track to graduate on time.
Track Your Progress: The "Track Progress" navigation tab in Stellic allows you to see courses you have “Taken” (green), course you have “Registered” (light orange), and courses you have “Remaining” (grey) in the bar at the top.
To find courses still required, scroll down to view your "Progress" details. Search for empty red boxes or red exclamation points. When you find an unmet requirement, such as “30 Credits of 300 Or Above”, click on the “2 constraints” box to view important information about courses needed. Click on any course to read a description.
Consult the Stellic Knowledge Base, including a Student Quick Start Guide, for more information or watch the Track Your Academic Progress video.
The schedule of classes for fall 2025 is available now. The spring and summer 2026 schedule will be available on September 15, 2025.
As you review the schedule of classes, make note of any prerequisites, required permissions, or other special circumstances for the courses you are interested in. Pre-requisites can be found in the "notes" section for each course. Courses requiring special permission will have "PERM" listed under the course number. You must contact the department offering the course to gain permission to enroll.
Make enrolling on your priority registration date easy by adding courses to your plan before registration opens.
Plan your Path*: The “Plan your Path” navigation tab in Stellic allows you to build your schedule to prepare for registration. On the left side, you can view each semester and drag courses into your plan. On the right side, you can see all courses taken, registered, and those still needed. On the right side, click on any red box to continue expanding requirements until you see courses available. Click and hold any course to drag and drop it into a semester of your pathway on the left side.
After you have chosen classes for the next semester and registration is open, click on the “Go to schedule” button in the blue “Registration” box. You can also access this view by choosing the “Schedule…” followed by the semester in the main navigation menu. Click on any day and block of time. A side window will open on the right to see available course options. You can also “Search Courses” or choose “Specific Course” on the right to build your schedule.
When planning your courses, remember that taking at least 15 credit hours during each fall or spring semester helps you stay on track to graduate in four years!
*If you don’t have a pathway or degree in your “Plan Your Path” section, you can meet with your Academic Advisor for help choosing your degree and applying your pathway.
Consult the Stellic Knowledge Base, including a Student Quick Start Guide, for more information or watch the Build Your Term Schedule video.
Holds may be placed on your record to provide information or to alert you to take an action before registering for classes.
Certain holds will restrict you from registering as well as from obtaining official transcripts or your diploma.
You can see if there are any holds on your record by visiting the Student Center and looking in the box titled “Holds” Click on each hold to find “Instructions” to resolve the hold and whom to contact if you have questions.
Your academic advisor can help you map out your courses, in addition to helping you set and reach personal and professional goals. Set up an appointment with your advisor through the Student Appointment Scheduler, or find the phone number for your advising office by visiting the Advising Contact Information webpage.
Remember that your advisor is here to help, but you must assume responsibility for knowing your degree requirements. Also note that if you do not have an advising hold on your account, you are not required to meet with an advisor before registering.
If you are not able to meet with your advisor before your priority registration date, you can register for classes on your own, then make any needed changes during your advising appointment.
Now that your registration date is open, you have built your schedule, and met with advising, you’re ready to register.*
Plan and Register: The “Plan and Register” button will show up on your Home page after your registration date opens. Look inside the yellow notice box to click on the “Plan and Register” button.
Next, scroll down to the upcoming term and click on the “Go to schedule” button in the blue “Registration” box. Since your schedule is already built, you’re ready to review your schedule and register. (You can always “Add Courses” by clicking the button below courses on the right side.) If you haven’t yet built your schedule, click on Step 4 above for directions.
Click on the blue bar above your schedule to “Confirm courses for registration”. Scroll down to review your course. Once you’re ready to register, click on the blue “Complete Registration” button.
After you enroll in classes, please refer to the Academic Calendar for important dates, such as the final date to alter your schedule and the semester start date. Also, don’t forget to review your course schedule before classes begin. You can order your textbooks after reviewing your syllabi in Canvas.
*Former students may need to reapply to register. Students who are enrolled on another IU campus or who were last enrolled on another IU campus but did not graduate should complete the intercampus transfer form.
