Request a Sponsorship

Consideration for sponsorships will be based on the following:

• Whether the organization or event supports strategic priorities of Indiana University Southeast.
• The benefit to the communities we serve.
• The annual number of sponsorship request by the organization.
• The campus’s history of support for the organization and/or event.
• The current participation of IU Southeast students, employees, donors, or members of the board of advisors with the organization requesting the sponsorship.
• Availability of university representatives to attend and/or participate in the event.
• The university cannot support individual participation in a fundraising event or activity for the sole benefit of the individual, such as registration fees, equipment or uniforms, trips, etc.
• Requesting organizations must be in good standing and have a positive community image.

The organization/event must meet the above criteria and answer “yes” to at least one of the questions below. Preference will be given to requests where the answer is “yes” to more than one question.

• Does the organization and event/activity support the strategic priorities of Indiana University Southeast?
• Will the sponsorship provide IU Southeast with an opportunity to communicate our message—whether it is marketing or related to our academic mission?
• Will the sponsorship provide IU Southeast with an opportunity to market/promote its educational opportunities to the community or those attending the event/activity?

If this minimum requirement is met, the following guidelines will be used to help further determine how to allocate our limited sponsorship dollars:

• Value: The event/activity provides good promotional value for the dollars.
• Geographic reach/Size of audience: The event/activity reaches a desirable target audience in our service areas, such as students, potential students, and their families. The larger the target audience reached, the better value provided.
• Public relations: Participation in the event will leave a good impression within the community.
• Onsite involvement: There is an opportunity for onsite involvement at the event.
• Impact: Participation in this event will lead to a large reach or impact in our communities.

The review and approval process involves the following:

• All organizations approaching Indiana University Southeast for a campus-wide sponsorship must complete the Community Event/Project Sponsorship Request Form.
• We ask that community organizations submit requests 10-12 weeks prior to the date of the event. Requests that are received less than 8 weeks in advance of the deadline for making a decision risk being excluded from consideration.
• Sponsorship requests will be reviewed by the IU Southeast Office of University Relations in conjunction with the campus executive leadership team on an ongoing basis, and we will contact you with our decision once it has been made. Please be advised that we may not be able to fulfill every sponsorship request we receive, even if the request meets our criteria.

Complete the following steps to submit your request:

1. Review our sponsorship criteria.
2. Complete the online Community Event/Project Sponsorship Request Form.
3. Submit the form along with all supporting materials and documentation.
