The mission of the program is to provide global education for students to appreciate diverse perspectives, understand the connections they have to the wider world, effectively communicate and collaborate across cultures and countries, and use knowledge to investigate and take action on issues that matter to them and the wider world.
The program will mostly take place in the College of Education of the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City. This is the flagship campus of UP. The university address is College of Education, Benitez Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City 1101 Philippines.

To demonstrate educational travel experience in the Philippines, a successful student will:
- Demonstrate effective cross-cultural communication
- Participate as a leader in at least one teaching-learning experience, either through formal and informal educational setting
- Co-present a project or workshop with a faculty at a conference
- Apply principles of international service learning and citizenship
- Engage in positive adaptation to a foreign educational and cultural environment
- Write a reflection paper about the people, the culture, the education system, and the environment in the Philippines
- Identify and reflect on aspects of the Filipino or Southeast Asian cultures that need to be considered when interacting with people and when educating children from these backgrounds in the United States
- Exhibit awareness of international perspectives by linking educational, cultural and social processes
- Education majors will use pedagogical principles in the planning, teaching, management, and evaluation of learning processes, focusing on English Learners

MANILA, PHILIPPINES
The term "Manila" is commonly used to refer to the whole metropolitan area, the greater metropolitan area or the city proper. The officially defined metropolitan area called Metro Manila, the capital region of the Philippines, includes the much larger Quezon City and the Makati Central Business District. It is the most populous region of the country, one of the most populous urban areas in the world, and is one of the wealthiest regions in Southeast Asia. The University of the Philippines (UP) is the country’s national university, as declared by its Charter of 2008 which was approved by the 14th Congress of the Philippines on April 29, 2008. This premier institution of higher learning was established in 1908 and is now a system composed of seven constituent universities and one autonomous college spread throughout 15 campuses in the archipelago. As of 2012, the UP System’s student population was estimated at 57,000.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, DILIMAN
A degree-granting unit within the University of the Philippines Diliman. One of the first academic units established in the University, the College offers baccalaureate, graduate and non-degree programs in the field of teacher education. The College of Education is housed by the Benitez Hall along the Academic Oval of the Diliman campus.
UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES INTEGRATED SCHOOL (UPIS)
The UP Integrated School (est. 1976) is the laboratory school of the UP College of Education. It offers an integrated curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It is one of the country's pioneer integrated schools and has been offering an integrated curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 10 since its inception until the mandatory implementation of the Department of Education's K-12 program in 2012.
BALARA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Balara Elementary School sits on water aqueducts installed by MWSS along Tandang Sora Avenue, Quezon City, a few blocks away from the University of the Philippines. The school was put up in 1950 with only two (2) classes which were housed in the Chapel of Old Balara. Later on the two pre-fab building were constructed on the partial lot owned by MWSS, and the frontal space was used by Mr. Decena, a long time resident of the area. Due to the rapid increase of enrolment additional buildings were constructed in 1954, 1965, 1967, 1985 and 1995 a total of six(6) pre-fab buildings consisting of 25 substandard classrooms rose from this low lying area.
DZUP (1602 kHz Metro Manila)
An AM campus radio station owned and operated by the University of the Philippines Diliman. Its studio facility is located at the 2nd floor, Media Center of the College of Mass Communication, U.P. Diliman campus, in Quezon City; while its transmitter is located at Village B corner Delos Reyes St., UP Village, Diliman, QC.[1][2] The station is being used as a laboratory for the Broadcast Communication students of the university, with programming that includes music programs and request shows to informative segments and talk shows.
CORREGIDOR ISLAND
Corregidor Island (Tagalog: Pulo ng Corregidor [kɔˈɾɛhidɔr]), is an island located at the entrance of Manila Bay in southwestern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines. Due to this location, Corregidor has historically been fortified with coastal artillery to defend the entrance of Manila Bay and Manila from attacks by enemy warships. Located 48 kilometres (30 mi) inland, Manila has been the largest city and the most important seaport in the Philippines for centuries, from the colonial rule of Spain, Japan and the United States, to the establishment of the Philippines in 1946.
SAN VICENTE
A barangay in Quezon City. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 7,274. This represented 0.25% of the total population of Quezon City. According to the 2015 Census, the age group with the highest population in San Vicente is 20 to 24, with 764 individuals. Conversely, the age group with the lowest population is 80 and over, with 53 individuals.
READING WORKS
In November 1995, Reading Specialists and Educational Therapists from the University of the Philippines recognized the need for every student to become an independent learner and established Reading Works, a privately owned reading center.

TAAL, TAGAYTAY CITY
Tagaytay, officially the City of Tagaytay (Tagalog: Lungsod ng Tagaytay) or simply known as Tagaytay City, is a 2nd class city in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 71,181 people. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations because of its scenery and cooler climate provided by its high altitude. Tagaytay overlooks Taal Lake in Batangas and provides views of Taal Volcano Island in the middle of the lake through various vantage points situated in the city. Tagaytay is relatively close to the capital city of Manila, only 59 kilometres (37 miles) away via Aguinaldo Highway, providing an easy escape for the locals from the heat of the huge metropolis.
