Placement Testing
Please carefully read the information and links below to better understand the requirements of the specific placement tests and how to take them.
Math:
The ALEKS math assessment is mandatory for the following majors; all other majors do NOT require the ALEKS assessment:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Clinical Lab Science
- Computer Science
- Elementary Education
- Geosciences – Geology
- Informatics – Chemistry Cognate
- Math
- Physics
- Secondary Math Education

Modern Language:
The modern language tests (Spanish, German, and French) are recommended for students who have previously studied a language and do not have college credit.
