Getting Started at IU Southeast
Let anyone in the Human Resources department, your supervisor, or any member of the leadership team know how we can help you get off to the best possible start. Ask a coworker for a campus tour, introduce yourself to one new person each day, visit our art gallery and library, enjoy lunch outside on a beautiful day, or take a walk around our park-like campus to get acquainted with your new favorite place that you have ever worked.
Your supervisor will assist you with the first steps in job performance, computer access, email, keys, phone service, and other necessary tools and information.
Required Paperwork for New Employees
The items listed below need to be completed a week before your hire date.
- Background check
- Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) to be completed in the Division office or Campus HR
- Personal Profile Form
Once you are hired, you will receive an email to complete the following online:
- Direct Deposit
- Personal information
- Federal and State Tax Withholding
Non-Indiana Residents - State Tax Withholding
Employees who live outside of Indiana must complete the following tax forms:- WH-47 Certificate of Residence (For residents of Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin)
- Appropriate state tax withholding form
- Kentucky residents: K-4 Kentucky Withholding Certificate
- Additional state tax forms are available at the Office of the University Controller Forms Library.

CrimsonCard
The CrimsonCard is your employee ID and a campus pre-paid debit card. Dining services, campus bookstore, and many local merchants accept the CrimsonCard as a form of payment.
New Employee Orientation
A new employee orientation is held every other Tuesday. We are also ready to assist you sooner than your scheduled orientation if you have benefit questions or any particular question or need.
Payroll
Professional Staff (those who are exempt from overtime) and Faculty are paid monthly on the last work day of the month with the exception of December. December pay is paid on the first work day of January. The monthly payroll schedule can be accessed on the Pay Date Schedules page.
Support staff (those who are not exempt from overtime) are paid biweekly. The biweekly payroll schedule can be accessed on the Bi-Weekly Payroll Schedule page.
