Faculty of all disciplines are invited to develop and submit proposals for upper-level, multidisciplinary Honors seminars. Courses most closely connected to the humanities and social sciences are designated H306, and courses with focus beyond those disciplines are designated H307. Examples of previous course titles, as well as descriptions of current and upcoming seminars, may be found on the Honors Curriculum portion of this website. At the instructor’s discretion, course proposals accepted by the Honors Council will be cross-listed with the Master of Interdisciplinary Studies (MIS) Program, with 2 seats of each class typically being reserved for MIS students and 13 for MIS students.
Faculty mentors are needed for 200- and 400-level Honors project. Mentors provide guidance in their content area(s) of expertise by sharing potential sources and offering direction in the beginning stages of research. They are also asked to evaluate the student’s final deliverables (a scholarly paper and presentation) in consultation with the Honors Program Director.
