Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood is Noah’s exploration of his own resilience. Born in South Africa during apartheid to a white Swiss father and Black Xhosa mother, his very existence was a crime. Noah reflects on his upbringing, on his close-knit relationship with his mother, and on the experiences that made him who he is. The book highlights the bonds we make with our families, the ways in which we find our place in the world, and how we can triumph even when the odds are against us.
Born A Crime is a vulnerable, funny, moving memoir that we hope will lead to challenging and productive conversations about how all of us grow through the adversity we face—whether it’s within our power to change it or not.
