Pre-Pharmacy, or Pre-Pharm, is a term used for a two-year undergraduate program that Pharmacy students must first complete before moving on to a Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD program.
Indiana University Southeast (IU Southeast) and Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (SU COPHS) in Louisville provide students with two fast-track options. The Direct to PharmD option is designed for high school seniors, and the Fast Track option is designed for current college students.
During the first two years, you must meet undergraduate academic progress conditions while completing the prerequisite coursework at IU Southeast. You can major in chemistry-biochemistry or biology-microbiology during your undergraduate term.
If accepted to SU COPHS, pharmacy school credit hours earned are applied toward a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree through a reverse transfer agreement between the two universities, allowing you to earn two degrees in five years vs. the conventional six-year timeframe.

The prerequisites at IU Southeast include specific courses in anatomy and physiology, biology, and chemistry, plus an array of general education courses. A total of 91 prerequisite credit hours are required for the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry/Biochemistry and 102 prerequisite credit hours for the Bachelor of Science in Biology.
