Thanks to tuition reciprocity, financial aid and scholarships, your graduate degree will cost less at IU Southeast than it would at competitor schools.
Scholarships and Fellowships
All prospective and current students should annually complete the MIS Scholarship application through the "Scholarships" webpage.
Regional Campus Graduate Fellowship Awards of up to $4,000 per student are awarded through the Indiana University Graduate School for new and continuing MIS students. To be eligible, students must submit a complete scholarship application to the MIS program by July 1st.
The MIS program typically distributes a total of $4000 in scholarship funding to new students in the MIS program who demonstrate academic merit and need. The funds are typically used to fund 3 to 6 scholarships. To be eligible, students must submit a complete scholarship application to the MIS program by August 1st.
Follow the steps to apply:
- Log onto One.IU.edu using your IU login and password
- If you have not created your IU account, log onto one.iu.edu and search "Create My First IU Account"
- Search "Scholarship" and click the icon
- Complete the General Scholarship Application
- Search for "IUS-Master" under opportunities. The Master of Interdisciplinary Studies Scholarship will show up in the list. This is the location where you will upload the additional information required.
MIS students may also be eligible for other Scholarships. Students who complete the general scholarship application will also be reviewed for any scholarship which requires only a General Application and for which they meet the scholarship criteria. To apply for these, log in to your One.IU.edu account and click start on the "Scholarships" webpage and complete the General Scholarship Application.
Complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for federal and state grants, federal loans and federal work-study. The FAFSA deadline is June 30.

** The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) enables residents of Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin who are admitted as nonresident students to enroll at IU Southeast at a reduced cost. This program is effective as of the Spring 2017 semester.

Tuition Reciprocity
Students from Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties in Kentucky are eligible for in-state tuition at IU Southeast.
Sponsors/Tuition Reimbursement
You might also be eligible for tuition reimbursement through your employer. Your employer will have to become authorized as your sponsor through the IU Southeast Office of the Bursar.
Financial Aid
Graduate students are eligible for student loans. Here are some tips to help you get started.
- A degree-seeking graduate student must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year to apply for Stafford Loans.
- Graduate students must also enroll in at least four credit hours to be eligible for Stafford Loans.
- Graduate students are also eligible for federal unsubsidized student loans (up to $138,500) if they complete the FAFSA and are enrolled at the minimum part-time status.
Post-baccalaureate students are not eligible for financial aid, but may become eligible by enrolling in a degree-seeking program.
