An Indiana University Southeast Internship is an educational experience related to a student’s degree program and career plan which allows the student to apply what he/she has learned to real work situations. An Internship involves a student, an employer supervisor, and a sponsor of the university.
Internship Program Guidelines:
An Internship may be a paid or unpaid experience and a student may earn from zero to six academic credit hours (depending on the number of hours worked per week). It is necessary for the internship to be registered through our Career Development Center in order for it to appear on the student’s transcript.

IU Southeast has created an employee tuition partnership program which allows the students to defer tuition and fee payments until the end of the semester. At the end of the semester, the employer reimburses the student and the student pays IU Southeast. As an alternative option, the company may become an official sponsor where the university will direct-bill the company about four weeks into the semester. As part of the program, the company’s logo is displayed on Employer Connect website and under the tuition deferment program.
