At IU Southeast, our Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSEd) program offers a concentration in science—and prepares future educators to inspire young learners in the field of scientific inquiry.

Comprehensive education, science-specific content

Our Elementary Education program with a Science concentration provides a comprehensive curriculum that integrates foundational education courses with specialized coursework in physical science, Earth and space science, life science, engineering, and computer science.

You will learn how to create dynamic lesson plans that promote hands-on inquiry-based exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in science.

Hands-on learning, real-world education settings

Through field experiences and student teaching placements in diverse classroom settings, you'll gain practical experience applying science principles, practices, and methodologies.
