Interpersonal violence is not your fault
If you have experienced interpersonal violence it’s important that you understand you are not to blame and there is nothing that did to deserve this. It doesn’t matter when it happened, where it happened. Or what the circumstances surrounding the incident were. It’s not your fault.
You have reporting options, involving confidential campus resources, but also including the option to not report at all.
Making the decision to report an incident
If you decide to report to a campus authority what has happened, there is certain information you may be asked to share. This information is valid for everyone in the Indiana University community - students, faculty, and staff - including non-U.S. citizens. Procedures will vary depending on what type of report is filed. To learn more about these procedures click visit the Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Policy webpage.
