Tuition Assistance

Step 1
Meet with your IU Southeast academic advisor to obtain a signed degree plan

Your IU Southeast academic advisor will provide you with a signed degree plan or CC 104-R (Planned Academic Program Worksheet) which will map out your degree program and requirements. Save a PDF of your degree plan and/or CC 104-R to your computer, USB, or secure cloud storage.

Step 2
Register for tuition assistance (TA)

Register for an account under your respective military branch before you can begin applying for tuition assistance. Please refer to the military branch TA portals below.

  1. Register for an account if you have not already done so
  2. Complete any required training/prompts within the military branch TA portals
  3. Once you complete any required training/prompts, an Education Counselor (EC) from your military branch will review your profile and, if you are eligible, approve you to apply for TA

Step 3
Upload your individual degree plan/map

From step 1 (listed above), you will be required to upload a PDF of your degree plan/map in your respective military branch TA portal. Prompts within the tuition assistance portal should guide you through the process of uploading your degree plan/map.

Step 4

  • Log onto One.IU.edu
  • In the search bar, type in "Student Center” and press enter
  • The “Student Center” tile should populate (click on the heart icon to favorite it)
  • Click on “Student Center” tile
  • Click on “My Academics and Grades”
  • Click on “Class Schedule Details”
  • Select the correct semester to generate a class schedule that includes the start and end dates of your classes
  • Save PDF to your computer, USB, or secure cloud storage

Step 5
Acquire the cost verification form from Student Central

Step 6
Apply for Tuition Assistance (TA)

When you apply for your Tuition Assistance, you will request TA for each class. Before submitting your TA request to your respective military branch, you will be required to upload both a PDF of your class schedule and bursar bill to verify both the class and the cost of the class. Once you formally submit your class requests and cost verifications, be sure to monitor your account diligently as your branch Education Counselor will either approve or disapprove your TA requests.
