Welcome, Adult Students!
Adult students are the bomb! And the Adult Student Center (ASC) is here to serve you. Located in the University Center South, Room 206, the ASC is committed to assisting adult students as they pursue their educational goals and persist to graduation. The ASC serves single parents, veterans, international students, those who are 24 years or older, those returning to college after an interruption in their education, those who carry significant family and work obligations, and those who self-identify as being a non-traditional student.
The ASC is the perfect place for non-traditional students to meet, study, and socialize. The lounge features 12 computers, a printer, a scanner, a microwave, a refrigerator, a Veterans resource center, a coffee maker, and local phone service. The center offers a variety of programs, workshops, and services designed to ease the busy and oftentimes anxious adult student's transition to college life. A full-time coordinator is available to answer your questions and address your concerns. The coordinator is the primary advocate for non-traditional students and is the liaison to the campus and external service agencies regarding adult student issues.
The ASC works closely with the Non-Traditional Student Union (NTSU) and the Student Veterans Organization (SVO). The ASC also organizes and sponsors two annual events that induct IU Southeast students into the Pinnacle Honor Society, a national organization that recognizes the leadership, service, and scholarship of non-traditional students, and the Metroversity Outstanding Adult Student Learner Awards.
The Adult Student Center is open 24/7 and staffed during working hours throughout the week. Stop in and meet fellow students, sit, relax, and have a cup of coffee! We hope you will make the Adult Student Center your home away from home.
