This class will work on a beautiful beginner Tai Chi Series each six weeks: Wu style the first six weeks, and Wu Hao style the second six weeks. We will break down all the pieces to the form over the six weeks so that it is committed to memory for personal practice. We will also cover application of the form, and the traditional Tai Chi warmups, Qigong and Neigong.
We will also cover short forms of the Xingyiquan style. Xingyiquan is a brother style to Tai Chi (aka taijiquan), and has forms emulating elements and animals. Xingyiquan, Taijiquan, and Baguazhang are the three Kung-fu styles known as Wudang Kung-fu. They are named after a revered mountain range in China and are known as the internal martial arts because of their focus on health and wellness, and their use of acupressure, Qigong, and Neigong in their training to promote longevity and robust health.
Tai Chi is recognized worldwide as the best exercise to build and maintain stability, focus, and memory. It also takes very little time to practice and is a great component to the day for any lifelong learner. Xingyiquan is known for its beautiful simplicity of form, and its effectiveness as a martial art. Together they make a diverse and exciting home practice you can watch progress over time.
