The State of Indiana Licensing Board has set guidelines for coursework to be completed by graduates of master’s programs in counseling-related fields. The program consists of 60 credit hours of courses (51 hours of didactic and 9 hours of clinical courses). The 9 hours of clinical courses will include 100 supervised hours of clinical practicum and 600 supervised hours of internship, as dictated by the State of Indiana for licensure. The program involves both classroom instruction and experiential learning consistent with the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) guidelines for accredited counseling programs. All required coursework is designed to meet licensure requirements. Currently, the MCMHC program is not accredited by CACREP but has initiated the process of becoming accredited.

Hybrid Program Design: The MCMHC program has been designed in a format that works for busy adults who may be juggling many responsibilities. The program consists of a combination of face-to-face classes that meet on campus and online coursework. This allows students to develop strong learning relationships with faculty and members of their cohort but also the flexibility to complete some coursework in a way that fits their schedule.

All courses are 3 credit hours unless otherwise noted.
