Biography

Nidhi Shah, Ph.D. came to the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University, Southeast in the Fall of 2017 as an Adjunct Faculty. In the year of 2019, she got selected as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Analytical Chemistry at Indiana University, Southeast. Her primary responsibilities are teaching freshman chemistry, non-majors chemistry and analytical chemistry. Teaching is her passion and she thinks that sharing knowledge with others is highly rewarding and can make a huge difference in student's life. She loves teaching chemistry because chemistry is everywhere. All around us is made up of chemistry. For example: water that we drink, air we breathe, food we eat and so on.

Nidhi Shah received her B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from India. In the year of 2010, she came to US to pursue her further studies in Chemistry. She received her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from University of Louisville in the year of 2015. Her research was focused on the electrochemical formation of one-dimensional (1D) Ag nanostructures directly on electrode surfaces or gap of two electrodes. 1D Ag nanoparticle chains formed electrochemically in the presence of surfactant showed interesting surface-enhanced Raman and localized surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy that depends on their conductance state.
