Biography
Clint Franklin is a Teaching Professor of Geosciences and the department’s coordinator at IU Southeast. Since joining the university in 2005, Mr. Franklin has primarily taught World Regional Geography and courses in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). Instrumental in developing the GIS track within the Geosciences degree, Mr. Franklin takes immense pride in the countless graduates who have gone on to work in the field of GIS.
An innovator in teaching, Mr. Franklin created one of the first hybrid courses at the university and continually adapts his approach to meet the needs of students and our changing world. Enthusiastic about the interdisciplinary nature of the science, he has assisted in over ten study abroad and field courses, including Field Biology, Field Geography, and Field Geology. Mr. Franklin strongly believes in the power of experiential learning, leading student trips to Alaska, California, and the Red River Gorge, as well as supervising dozens of students in GIS internships.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Franklin is an avid traveler who enjoys interacting with people, experiencing diverse cultures, and exploring landscapes across our planet. Above all, he appreciates sharing these experiences with students, enriching their learning experience with real-world insights and adventures.
