Biography

Kimberly Dawn Pelle serves as Director of the Adult, Veteran, and Military Connected Student Center (ASC) at Indiana University Southeast and Coordinator for Non-Traditional Student and Family Programs, providing students with personal support, academic services and programs that meets their needs and connect them to the university. Pelle has worked in higher education for 22 years, including 10 years as an admissions counselor and 12 years managing the Adult Student Center.  Pelle works closely with adult students coming to college for the first time or returning to college after time off, veteran students, disabled students, international students, LGBTQIA students, students of color, single parents, and students in the workforce full and part time.

Professional Interests

Teaching

Pelle has a MS degree in Education, is an adjunct faculty member at IU Southeast in Social Sciences teaching a class on Bystander Intervention, and sits on numerous committees, including but not limited to: Domestic Violence Task Force, Chancellor’s Cultural Diversity Advisory Board, Common Experience, Metroversity Consortium, and the Persistence and Completion Council.  She also works closely with the Center for Woman and Families, the Family Scholar House, Hosparus, and Education Matters Southern Indiana.  Pelle is also responsible for the campus’ Family and Parent Programs.
