Misti works with prospective, current, and graduating students, as well as alumni at IU Southeast. She assists with career exploration, internships, resumes, mock interviewing, graduate school preparation, and more. Another focus that Misti has in Career Development is planning the curriculum for the career exploration courses on campus, as well as presenting in classrooms on career related topics across all disciplines.
Prior to working in Career Development as the Assistant Director, Misti served as the Career Counselor in the office, serving exploratory freshmen and sophomores. In that role, she helped students with decision making on majors and narrowing down career options for the future. Misti started her professional career at IU Southeast as an Academic Advisor for the school of Social Sciences, assisting students in academic preparation, degree completion, and helping find the resources needed to be successful on campus.
Misti is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Career Development Professionals of Indiana (CDPI), and the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She has certifications as a Career Development Facilitator (CDF), the Strong Interest Inventory career assessment (SII), and Gallup Strengthsfinder.

Misti enjoys teaching courses on career preparation and exploration and has taught sections of Business Career Perspectives (BUS-X220), Business Career Planning and Placement (BUS-X410), and Career and Academic Planning (COAS-S100) for freshmen exploratory students.
