Mrs. Doyle graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2006, where she expanded her experience with various artistic media in studio courses and studied art education. She continued her education at the University of Kentucky, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2009. During graduate school, Mrs. Doyle was invested in expanding her knowledge of art materials, processes, and practices in order to have the ability to teach others as much as possible in the future. Leslie focused on developing her photographic skills and created participatory projects where others could be involved in the act of art making.
After attending UK, Mrs. Doyle was invited back as an instructor for two years in traditional black and white photography courses and she assisted in developing a digital photography program. From 2010 to 2016, Leslie was an adjunct instructor for IU Southeast teaching various courses from Digital Art, Photography, Graphic Design, and Drawing.
In 2017, Mrs. Doyle decided to expand her knowledge in Graphic Design by joining a design agency, Mediocre Creative, of Lexington, Kentucky. For three years, Leslie developed critical skills as a Project Manager and Account Executive. In this position, she assisted in managing a small team of creatives and maintained essential relationships with clients.
In Spring of 2020, Mrs. Doyle decided to return to teaching at IU Southeast and is now a Lecturer of Fine Arts in Graphic Design as of Fall 2021. Leslie is the Faculty Director of Design Center, which is a student-led agency that provides design services to the IU Southeast community and regional non-profits. As an artist, Mrs. Doyle focuses on formal abstract photography and continues to experiment with alternative photographic processes.
