The IU Southeast School of Education offers interested candidates a program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. The B.S. in Secondary Education is designed to prepare candidates with their initial teacher licensing in the middle school, junior high, and high school setting in both Indiana and Kentucky.
Expand your expertise with Education Minors at IU Southeast. Candidates may add other teaching areas to one of the four primary areas. These majors can also be added to a teaching license as a teaching minor. Indiana candidates may also earn a teaching minor in:

With a B.S. in Secondary Education, you can teach in middle schools and high schools, inspiring and educating students in grades 6-12. You can develop engaging lesson plans in your subject area, prepare students for college and careers, and focus on developing their reading, writing, and communication skills, particularly if you specialize in Language Arts. Additionally, there are opportunities for roles in educational leadership or administration and further education and specialization.
